Choir at Murray Avenue

The Murray Avenue Choral Program is comprised of ~250 singers across four ensembles: 6th Grade Chorus, 7th & 8th Grade Chorus, LionVoice, and ManChoir. 6th grade ensembles meet during a student's specials period once every six day cycle, while 7th & 8th grade ensembles meet every other day during a student's specials period. After-school rehearsals occur twice each month for an hour for 6th Grade Chorus, while 7th & 8th Grade Chorus rehearsals a handful of times each year after school. LionVoice is an auditioned, pop a cappella group that requires singers to complete two rounds of auditions in order to be considered for selection into the group. ManChoir is an ensemble that provides new, male-identifying singers a safe place to explore their newly changing voices. Singers in the Murray Avenue Choral Program can expect to experience a high-quality, engaging, and award-winning vocal music education in which they will sing exciting and appropriately challenging songs from all genres (including pop, R&B, soul jazz, and legit choral repertoire). Murray Avenue Choirs performs three concerts each year and travels to Dorney Park in May to participate in an adjudicated festival AND have fun in the sun at the amusement park! LionVoice is the flagship ensemble and has won numerous accolades and experienced great success at regional competitions; LionVoice has been featured on B101, performed at The Wells Fargo Center, Citizens Bank Park, and The Liacouras Center, and has released several studio recordings on all major music streaming platforms. LionVoice also works with famous musicians and collegiate a cappella groups and conductors. LionVoice solely performs pop, jazz, and soul music.
