Lower Moreland Middle School 

Choral Program

The Lower Moreland Middle School Choral Program is comprised of ~200 singers across three ensembles: 7th & 8th Grade Chorus, LionVoice, and ManChoir. 7th & 8th grade ensembles meet every other day during a student's specials period. 7th & 8th Grade Chorus rehearsals a handful of times each year after school. LionVoice is an auditioned, pop a cappella group that requires singers to complete two rounds of auditions in order to be considered for selection into the group. ManChoir is an ensemble that provides new, male-identifying singers a safe place to explore their newly changing voices. Singers in the Murray Avenue Choral Program can expect to experience a high-quality, engaging, and award-winning vocal music education in which they will sing exciting and appropriately challenging songs from all genres (including pop, R&B, soul jazz, and legit choral repertoire). Murray Avenue Choirs performs two concerts each year and travels to Dorney Park in May to participate in an adjudicated festival AND have fun in the sun at the amusement park! LionVoice is the flagship ensemble and has won numerous accolades and experienced great success at regional competitions; LionVoice has been featured on B101, performed at The Wells Fargo Center, Citizens Bank Park, and The Liacouras Center, and has released several studio recordings on all major music streaming platforms. LionVoice also works with famous musicians and collegiate a cappella groups and conductors. LionVoice solely performs pop, jazz, and soul music.

General Music

The Lower Moreland Middle School General Music Program aims to provide students a well-rounded music education in which students learn various instruments and engage with music technology and a variety of digital music making platforms. 6th Graders participate in general music class once every six school days during their specials period, while 7th and 8th graders participate in general music class once every other day during their specials period for two marking periods each year. The Murray Avenue General Music Program is aimed at fostering student creativity and collaboration.
